Born and raised in Baltimore, Thoms attended Howard University and the Juilliard School’s Drama Division.

Before Cold Case, she starred in the short lived series Wonderfalls and As If. After the series, she has guest starred on Harry’s Law and Suits

Some of her film credits include Rent (2005) and The Devil Wears Prada (2006). Currently, she is working on the movies Looper, Raze and Liberty City: The American Dream, all set to premiere in 2012.
