Meredith Stiehm is the creator of Cold Case and was the show-runner/head-writer for all 7 seasons during the series' run. She was one of the few women to be in charge of a tv show in the US at the time.
Before being involved with Cold Case, Meredith was a writer on NYPD Blue (1998-99) and ER (2001-02). Both shows received Emmy nominations for "Outstanding Drama Series" while she was on the writing staff. In addition, she received an Emmy nomination for writing on NYPD Blue in 1998. After Cold Case ended, she has gone to write for Homeland and The Bridge.
