Fritz Adams is a character in "Superstar". He was a tennis player in college.
In 1973, Fritz played against and lost to Andi Simmons in a Battle of the Sexes game, modeled on the match between Bobby Riggs and Billie Jean King. Andi was murdered afterwards and for years, Fritz was considered the prime suspect.
Fritz was found innocent in 2006. He had become a tennis instructor and he indicated that he only took up the sport as an excuse to pick up women.
