Carlton Rawls was a former security guard at Reeves High School. He is still doing security, but somewhere else.
Carlton would regale anyone with the story of his run-in with the killer of Laura McKinney, but it's a lie. He was passed out from drinking. The Cold Case team later find out that Carlton also gave a gun to another teacher, Margaret Trudlow. The purse containing the gun was stolen by Kenneth Yates and used to kill Laura.
Carlton is last seen drinking in his car, no doubt feeling guilty about his part in Laura's death.
