Danny Pino is an American actor who played Scotty Valens on Cold Case for seven seasons from 2003-2010. He is the only the first season regular cast-member that did not appear in the pilot.
Early Life[]
Danny Pino was born on April 15, 1974 in Miami Florida. He attended Florida Internacional University and NYU’s Tisch School of Arts. Pino is married to his highschool sweetheart, Lilly; and they have two sons together – Luca Daniel (born on February 15, 2006) and Julian Franco (born on June 5, 2007).
Acting Career[]
Before joining Cold Case, he was known for starring in a CBS TV-movie called Lucy, playing Desi Arnaz. In addition, Pino also made multiple appearances of the FX Show, The Shield in which he played the dangerous Mexican murderer/Rapist, Armadillo Quientero. He was also in the short-lived TV series Men, Women & Dogs.
Some of his movie credits include Flicka (2004), Between (2006) and Across the Hall (2009), in which he co-starred with the late Brittany Murphy.
In 2011, he joined the cast of NBC's Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, playing Detective Nick Amaro.

During the course of Cold Case, he also co-wrote the episodes "Stealing Home" with Elwood Reid and "Metamorphosis" with Adam Glass.
